"Once again, the tea world is treated to Tea in a fresh and friendly approach that delights as it educates!  Celtic Tea With Friends is full of wonderful Celtic tales and traditions surrounding the tea table with warmth and hospitality. Lots of wonderful party ideas, recipes and fascinating facts you will treasure and put to good use!”

“What a wonderful book — absolutely delightful.  I can see the immense time and effort that you put into it.  Thank you!”

I love this book! I'm a serious collector of books about tea and teatime (I currently own 95.) Tea With Friends is one of my top 5 favorites, maybe even #1. I turn to it again and again when I'm entertaining or just want to review brewing times for different teas. It's a great gift for tea novices because it is entertaining as well as informative. I have given several as gifts (with a tin of tea, of course). Several tea catalogs (including Harney's) feature this book as part of a gift basket. I recommend this book for your 'tea library.'"

"Great book. I am a school media specialist and plan to use it teaching students as well as with my own children."

"Beautiful, concise, loaded with good information. Hospitality, history, helpful and practical information all packed into one verbal and visual delight. She has managed to tuck a large amount of information into a very pleasantly readable book that should be in everyone's home even if they aren't usually a tea drinker. This is practical information that can be used by real people, not some elaborate idea that takes a staff of half a dozen to implement. Her genuine enthusiasm for her subject is evident throughout and rubs off on the reader. Buy two copies, you'll find yourself thinking this is also a welcome gift."

"... I teach tea classes and although I show my students all of my many tea books this is the only one I offer for sale. I find lots of people are intimidated by what they feel are the mysteries of afternoon tea, high tea, cream tea, etc. One reason I like this book so much is it contains a wealth of the best basic information, simply presented, and it has terrific recipes. I love sharing this book."

"A clever hostess and skillful instructor, Knight shows how to create tea parties befitting all sort of occasions. Whether the event is the winter solstice or April Fools' Day, Knight's perfect combination of interesting menus, tasty recipes, and ideas for attractive decorations will inspire party givers. Month-by-month theme parties are further embellished by Knight's retelling of colorful myths and traditions, adding a sense of history and plenty of entertaining background to the anticipated festivities."

"All the basics for savoring the joys of tea in one charming little book. Packed with tea-lore, and tea-quotes, this book makes a delightful gift...by itself, or in a basket of "tea things." Be sure to keep a copy for yourself!"

"Ms. Knight pours forth history, advice, and humor. I have spent happy hours curled up with this book, leafing through the pages, planning parties and sipping tea. One can read for little known facts or recipes as easily as straight forward tea information. Ms. Knight's book is well researched and informative, but at the same time, it is creative and practical."

"This is a beautiful book. It has a very informative guide to teas and their complementary foods. Each month has a theme, menu and a recipe. A little history is presented with the theme and a cute little invitation to join her for tea. A must for anyone who enjoys tea parties!"

Tea With Friends Book Reviews
Better Homes and Garden Decorating, Country Home, Gift Basket Review, TEA A MAGAZINE, and Fresh Cup magazines have favorably reviewed Tea with Friends, and it is a selection of Country Homes & Gardens Book Club.

"I am giving it to my daughter for her 41st Birthday; I must say that it is a fabulous book, and I am very excited to give it to her. So thank you for your lovely book and the joy it brings."

“... I invited a couple for high tea using your suggestions as my guide... Tea presented in your style creates an atmosphere! We had such a good time and our friends loved the whole idea... Later this month, I'll make the zucchini chocolate cake for our group picnic ... Now, I can have a wee bit of 'Tea at the St. Regis' in Boise.”

"This book will provide tea novices and aficionados alike with useful suggestions on how to hold unique and interesting tea parties throughout the year. It is a book to be treasured and passed down from generation to generation."

"Tea with Friends is the only book of any size I've seen that thoroughly explains everything a hostess needs to serve a beautiful tea. In just 60 pages, author Elizabeth Knight offers a year's worth of themed teas, with suggestions for menus, music, decorations, activities, and invitations — and all very do-able for the average person. The writing is clear and uncluttered, complemented by Carolyn Bucha's charming illustrations.
Ms. Knight encourages readers not just to dream about serving tea, but to do it! Menus are based on familiar foods and dishes that most people know how to prepare at home or purchase ready-made. For anyone who wants to serve tea but is intimidated by not knowing the "right" way to do it, Elizabeth Knight shows you how to serve a tea that's right for you and your guests. (It also includes a section on formal afternoon tea service, if you're so inclined. And her historical notes are delightful and informative.)
There are a lot of cookbooks available—Tea with Friends does not pretend to be a book of recipes, although it does include some. Rather it is the essential guide to serving and enjoying tea in its many forms. This book may be slim but it's completely packed with information, and it's lovely to browse through. A copy belongs on every tea lover's bookshelf. You will find (as I did) that it won't spend much time there :-)."
